Experiences with Office 2007

It was only a week or two ago when I actually got the chance to test the nowdays “hot -favortite” Microsoft Office 2007 Beta 2. The installation was just a few clicks task. After the installation was complete, the software prompted me to insert an Activation key to unlock all the features and extend the 30-day trial to February 2007. Luckily, I had one already which I got in an invitation from Microsoft. So, I entered the key and the setup was complete at last.
I began playing around with the Word 2007. The interface is actually “incredible” and the roll-over animations everywhere adds to the eye-candy looks it presents with. The Grammar check feature is superb and looks for even minutest of the flaws in the document. The integrated support for publishing the document as a blog article or uploading the document to some document management server is another good feature. In Word 2007, we could actually zoom in/out of within a document (that’s really nice for anyone having weak eye-sight ).
Having played a lot with Word, I decided to try Outlook first (instead of Excel, which is similar to it’s predecessor). Outlook 2007 is much more powerful and efficient than I expected it to be. With a neat interface and attractive looks, it has every little tool which one could desire. From a Calander to a Feed-Reader, every tool works fine, except the update option that almost annoys you by prompting time and again to update some tools within Outlook. And the best part is that for POP3 enabled e-mail accounts, you don’t have to configure the server settings yourself. For creating a new account in Outlook 2007, just enter your e-mail address and leave the rest on Outlook. It will automatically configure the settings by establishing contact with the required service provider.
Powerpoint and Excel 2007 boasted of the same new looks of the Office ‘07, but the features are almost similar.
My verdict : I’ll easily give it 4.5/5 points.
So, what are you waiting for? Go, ahead and try it today. You’ll surely like it.

Microsoft’s MP3 player : ZUNE
Finally, the Microsoft’s mp3 player code name “Argo”, which they consider to be a gadget which will be a direct competitor of the de facto mp3 player - Apple’s iPod, got a name. The Microsoft Zune, no need to say, will support audio as well as video. Though the predicted design is sober and decent, but obviously not as good as the iPod’s, as far I think about it. Microsoft has not yet announced the release date, but has confirmed the development of their mp3 player.
